Every Card an Original and imperfect Emeralds with an inner “Jardin”

One of my all-time favorite projects for Bucherer, a series of invitation cards for an exclusive event. 

Each card featured one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces, partially pre-printed and then hand-finished with watercolor. Making every invitation its own small original. Among the pieces were the sparkling "Cocktail Rings" (from the 1920s) a symbol of quiet acts of rebellion. The "Flapper Girls" wore them into speakeasy bars, sparkling signs of a new kind of independence and a life lived slightly outside the rules. 

I found myself drawn into their history and into the stones themselves. One fascinating detail stayed with me: emeralds often carry an inner "jardin", an organic pattern that shapes their color and also their value. One could say their flaw creates their uniqueness. As an artist, I found that aspect intriguing. That the inner world, the imperfection even, is the exact thing that makes it impossible to replicate. 

Working with the Bucherer team was a true pleasure. Their dedication to timeless luxury and the care they brought to every detail, made this a project I will always cherish. 

Every card, an original and every gemstone full of sparkling colors. It was a truly inspiring collaboration.
